How about riding in the jungles without any brakes on your bike? 230km and 10 ferry crossings – 15 hours of riding.
Time was precious. I had come long way to south and still continuing till west coast. I took journey all the way to Fort Dauphin. One of the most beautiful settlements middle of the deserts. It was a big surprise what happened there and people I met.
My time schedule was getting tight as it took me 6 days to get my bike back to the road. Some unexpected issues as I was trying hopelessly to leave Tulear. I was heading to the south. It is mostly dry desert which is remote. About 400km across the inland to reach southern checkpoint of Lavanono. It was hell of a long way down to south yet an adventurous one.
After 3 weeks I had finally arrived to Tulear. From there a nice National Road 7 goes all the way back to capital. Yet I planned to take a day trip to Isalo National Park and also on my way mining city Ilakaka. Things can go wrong and sooner than we would think. In this episode I will explain how I nearly drowning in the flash floods. My near death experience was a turning point of everything to follow.
Journey continued towards south until I found myself at dead end. Made a dreadful decision to ride through mangroves all the way to Salary Bay. Even though no road existed between two checkpoints I managed to survive 110km of horrors. As I appoached into the salty mangroves I got my self bogged and lost in the wilderness. Local Sakalava tribesmen helped me out and showed me tracks to make it all the way to Salary Bay. It was a hell of a mission and took everything I had. Check it out!
